In the area of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
SID Bank will offer affordable micro loans (up to €25 thousand) to SMEs, micro enterprises and sole traders via the Fund of Funds for the purpose of financing working capital and investments in fixed assets.
For SMEs there will also be guarantees, including micro-guarantees. The following benefits are offered to final beneficiaries through the aforementioned guarantees: a low level of collateral required by financial intermediaries, lower interest rates on loans, lower guarantee costs and longer moratoriums on the repayment of loan principal. Enterprises will be able to use loan funds covered by a guarantee for investment financing (fixed assets) or for the financing of working capital.
SID bank will also offer financing for SMEs in the seed, formation, development and turnaround phases for equity and quasi-equity financing.
The aim of these products is to reduce the problems faced by SMEs, micro enterprises and sole traders in accessing sources of financing, and to increase entrepreneurial activity, the number of growing enterprises and the productivity thereof.
In the area of research, development and innovation (RDI)
SID Bank will offer affordable loans to SMEs, start-up companies and large enterprises via the Fund of Funds for financing purposes.
Enterprises will also be offered portfolio guarantees with the aim of offering the following benefits: a low level of collateral required by financial intermediaries, lower interest rates on loans, lower guarantee costs and longer moratoriums on the repayment of loan principal. Portfolio guarantees will be offered to participating financial institutions as coverage in the event of a potential loss.
The expected results of the affordable loans and portfolio guarantees are an increased number of innovatively active enterprises, growth in private investments in RDI, an increased share of exports of high-tech products and an increased number of Slovenian enterprises included in global supply chains and consortia.
In the area of energy efficiency (EE)
SID Bank will offer affordable loans to the public sector and energy service companies (ESCO) via the Fund of Funds for the complete energy renovation of public buildings. Those loans will be accompanied by lower collateral requirements, a lower interest rate and a longer repayment period.
In the area of urban development (UD)
SID Bank will offer affordable loans via the Fund of Funds to the public sector (municipalities and public companies that manage public areas and buildings, the private sector (companies that manage public areas and buildings, etc.) and to public-private partnerships for urban development projects.
On 24 November 2017, the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and SID Bank signed a financing agreement, under which the Fund of Funds was created.
